Experience

Brittany joined Anspach Law in the winter of 2015.  Her practice primarily focuses on health care litigation, specifically multi-state defense of long-term care facilities.  In this role, she has gained valuable experience in both motion practice and the courtroom.  Her focus is on transitioning cases to arbitration.  Brittany also represents creditors in a myriad of collection matters, which has further led her to courtrooms across the state of Ohio.  Insurance defense is a growing practice for her, as well.

Prior to joining the firm, Brittany provided legal services for the Office of the General Counsel of a local health system.  In that capacity, she managed system-wide processes involving corporate governance, business associate agreements, confidentiality agreements, and insurance-affiliated contractual matters.  Her exposure to the functionality and legal intricacies of a complex health system provides a firm foundation to confidently maneuver health care regulation and litigation in her present role as counsel.

Additionally, prior to transitioning to the health care sector, Brittany worked for a small, local law office, which afforded her hands-on exposure to litigation practices generally.  In this role, she also acquired knowledge of varied areas of practice, including estate planning, criminal prosecution, and administrative law.

Moreover, Brittany’s professional beginnings are rooted in the legislative process, as she worked as a Field Representative for the United States House of Representatives (KY-02) directly upon completion of her undergraduate studies.  While this experience served as her inaugural exposure to structured governance, her career progressed through positions held with the State of Michigan, Office of Retirement Services and Michigan House of Representatives (MI-103).

Further, throughout Brittany’s journey to her present role as counsel for this firm, her success was anchored not only in her intellectual fortitude but her genuine ability to interpersonally connect with constituents, which carries over to the client experience.  This dynamic was founded in her undergraduate study of Corporate and Organizational Communication.
