Matthew graduated cum laude from the University at Buffalo in 2010 with a concentration in finance transactions. At graduation he was awarded the Robert J. Connelly Award for excellence in trial advocacy by the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. While at the University at Buffalo, Matthew was a trial team member for the 2010 National Ethics Trial Competition in Sacramento, California. His team competed successfully through three rounds, finishing in a tie for third place in the semi-finals of this national invitational.
In 2008 Matthew competed in the Niagara Cup international moot
court competition in Toronto, Canada. He also served on the Jessup
Moot Court Board, and in 2009 was awarded the trial technique best
oral advocate. Matthew was the founder and co-chair of the
University at Buffalo Corporate Law Society, and was a co-executive
editor of the student editorial board for the ABA Journal of
Affordable Housing & Community Development Law. During his
final year of law school he was an academic law clerk for the
Honorable John M. Curran, presiding judge of the commercial part,
8th Judicial District.
Matthew joined the firm in 2009.
